Fundraiser concert for Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) featuring singer/songwriters from our very own Detroit open mic scene! Hosted by E9 @e9artist and Friends of DACC at GateKeeper Games in Berkley on 4/27. Doors 6pm. Music 6:30pm. All ages. No cover charge. Donate what ya can for DACC!

The long version:
More than ever, we need a true sense of community, a reason to leave the house and the internet and enjoy the company of fellow people the way humans had always done before offloading so much of ourselves online. Detroit has a thriving music scene, from amateurs to professionals. Last year, after attending a friend’s birthday concert in which he booked his favorite local indie musicians, I had this idea: book fellow open mic artists that I’ve befriended over the last two years to play a concert on my birthday with donations going to the animal shelter I’d been volunteering at. I’ll be opening the night with a few songs myself and then our performers will take the stage! These artists are a great representation of the open mic scene in Detroit; they are incredibly wholesome folks and SUPER talented singers, songwriters, and musicians. This concert will be in the form of a curated open mic with each performer getting 20 minutes to play whatever they want. Expect to hear a ton of originals as well as some covers! There will be no cover charge for attending though we’ll be asking folks to donate what they can for Friends of DACC. Friends of DACC will have official representation onsite to collect all donations, ensuring 100% of donations go straight to them and our furry friends! Parking is free and GateKeeper has a bar so come on down, grab a drink, and enjoy music by our very own Detroit artists!
