Empty The Shelters - FREE Adoption Event May 1-15
We are once again participating in the BISSELL Pet Foundation #EmptyTheShelters free adoption event! Beginning May 1 and through May 15, all adoption fees will be sponsored by Cathy Bissell so you can spend that saved cash on the three Ts: toys, treats, and training!

Dog Adoption Event - Paws, Pals, and Pet Supplies Plus
Come meet some of our adoptable shelter dogs on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at MeadowBrook Amphitheater. We’ll be doing onsite, same-day adoptions there from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This FREE admission family-friendly event is going to be centered around rescue groups and their adoptable animals.. Other attractions include “Dog Day in the Park” themed fun, with on-site food trucks, live music, and other family and pet-friendly activities. It’s bound to be a fun day!
Paws & PJs - Movie Night with Shelter Dogs!
Kick off the weekend with a cozy pajama party and movie night. Join us at the Edison Branch of the Detroit Public Library for a family-friendly pet themed movie night with adorable, adoptable shelter dogs!
Adopt A Dog at the Detroit Public Liibrary
Join us for a paw-some dog adoption event at the Detroit Public Library Main Branch on Sunday, May 19, 2024. We’ll be on the lawn outside of this storied and gorgeous library located on Detroit’s famous Woodward Avenue. We’ll be doing onsite, same-day dog adoptions there from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

FREE Dog Vaccine Clinic for Detroit & Dearborn Residents
Are you a Detroit or Dearborn resident? Do you need FREE vaccines for your dog or a FREE microchip or both? Come out to North Rosedale Park tomorrow (Sunday, March 10) from 2pm to 5pm. We will only be able to service 250 dogs so get there early!
Downriver Dog Adoption Event
Join us in Riverview on Saturday, April 20, 2024 for a special dog adoption event at the Premier Pet Supply on Fort Street from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Kitten Shower
It's kitten season and to help with the influx of cats and kittens at Detroit Animal Care and Control, Friends of DACC is throwing a kitten shower! We are in need of supplies that you can order off our Wish List: bit.ly/kittenshower24 You can have them shipped directly to the shelter or drop them off. If you stop by on Thursday, April 18, we have a party favor gift for you!
