While this is not an adoption event, it's the perfect chance to meet some of our shelter stars and learn how to get involved as a foster, adopter, or volunteer.

Join other pet owners and prospective pet owners to ask questions, share tips and support, and learn together, in a fun and casual setting. There is a new topic, free dog and cat food, and access to free spay/neuter services each session.

Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control is excited to collaborate with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to offer free spay and neuter surgeries for pet dog and cats of Detroit residents. Friends of DACC will transport your pet to and from their surgery with the BISSELL Pet Foundation in Grand Rapids. Pet parents will drop their pet off and pick their pet up from us at Detroit Animal Care and Control (1431 E. Ferry, Detroit) on the date of their surgery.

Need time during the week after work or school to come meet adoptable dogs? Well you’re in luck! Detroit Animal Care and Control will be open until 7:00 p.m. the first Thursday of every month, giving you more adoptions to meet the dog of your dreams.

Families are invited to cozy up with adoptable dogs for an evening of gentle stories and wagging tails. It’s a great way to introduce little ones to the joy of reading and the magic of rescue pets.
