Fix The Future - Free Dog Spays/Neuters for Detroit Residents

  • Detroit Animal Care and Control 1431 East Ferry Street Detroit, MI, 48211 United States (map)

**Please read all information!**

Registration is required.

Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control is excited to collaborate with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to offer free spay and neuter surgeries for pet dog and cats of Detroit residents. Friends of DACC will transport your pet to and from their surgery with the BISSELL Pet Foundation in Grand Rapids. Pet parents will drop their pet off and pick their pet up from us at Detroit Animal Care and Control (1431 E. Ferry, Detroit) on the date of their surgery.

Surgery is free, but pet parents must be registered with an appointment "ticket". Appointments are for Detroit residents only. Must show ID at drop off.

Spays and neuters are for dogs up to 75 lbs. Dogs over 75 lbs. are not eligible for this promotion.

Brachycephalic breeds are not eligible for this promotion. (Brachycephalic breeds have very short noses and squished faces, such as purebred French Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Boxers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Shih Tzus, Boston Terriers, Mastiffs, and Pugs.)

If you own a brachycephalic breed or a dog over 75 lbs., please contact fixmypet@friendsofdacc.org for a voucher for a free spay or neuter instead.

Drop-off is at 7:00am. Pick-up times vary anywhere from 5pm-9pm and are dependent on the clinic's surgery schedule that day as well as traffic on the route back from Grand Rapids to Detroit. Your pet's safety is our top priority. We will provide email updates during the day to let you know what time to pick your pet up after surgery.

*Please note that this form automatically generates an option to donate to Friends of DACC or to the Zeffy platform. You are welcome to do so but you are not obligated to donate any amount. These surgeries are offered FREE of charge to Detroit residents. Please note that donations to Zeffy do not go to our organization (Friends of DACC).*
