Storytime With Shelter Dogs at the Edison Branch
There's really nothing better than kids, books, and dogs! In celebration of Pet Month, join us at the Edison Branch of the Detroit Public Library for two special Storytime with Shelter Dogs events on Mondays, May 4th and May 18th at 2:00pm.
Children gather to read their favorite books out loud or listen to stories read by librarians, while friendly shelter dogs from Detroit Animal Care & Control listen in. It's a win-win: kids build confidence in their reading skills, and dogs enjoy the comfort of gentle voices and companionship.
This simple but magical hour helps kids grow as readers while giving adoptable dogs the chance to soak up love, attention, and positive interactions. Come share stories, wagging tails, and unforgettable moments!
Brought to you in partnership with Detroit Animal Care & Control and Friends of Detroit Animal Care & Control.
