Friends of DACC Joins Bowl 4 Animal Rescue 2025
Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) is thrilled to once again be a beneficiary of the Michigan Animal Welfare Foundation’s Bowl 4 Animal Rescue (B4AR)
Bowl 4 Animal Rescue is a fun-filled, lifesaving event that brings together passionate people and organizations dedicated to improving the lives of animals across Michigan. We’re in fantastic company this year alongside Underdog Rescue Ranch, Cat Tail Acres Sanctuary, and Blue Star Service Dogs.
There are so many ways you can join the fun and support FoDACC’s mission to enrich the lives of Detroit’s shelter pets—whether you want to lace up your bowling shoes, pledge a donation, or get your business involved.
Join the Pledge Drive
Help us raise funds for Phase 1 of our Outdoor Enrichment Expansion Project, which will directly benefit the ~200 dogs currently in DACC’s care.
This ambitious project is designed to give shelter dogs more time outside, better access to walking areas, and safe, structured play spaces where they can thrive. Here’s what Phase 1 includes:
Paw-Safe Walk Path: In summer, the blacktop gets dangerously hot. A painted path will help volunteers and dogs safely reach grassy walking areas.
New Play Yards: We currently have just two play yards. Adding two more will double daily enrichment opportunities, giving more dogs time to stretch, play, and just be dogs.
Fundraising Goal: $25,000
Every dollar you donate to Team FoDACC through the pledge drive will go to the Outdoor Enrichment Expansion Project. This will help cover materials and construction for the path and 2–4 new yards.
Why it matters: Most shelter dogs only get 15–20 minutes outside each day. With more space and better walkways, we can provide a more humane, happy, and healing shelter experience.
