This means we are finally able to start bringing back the programs you’ve been asking about, Dogventures, Slumber Parties, Fostering, and more! — the very programs that help get adoptable shelter dogs more exposure out in the community and into loving homes where they belong.

Staying Strong for Detroit’s Dogs
Recently, Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) had to make the incredibly difficult decision to pause all external events involving dogs and any new fostering activities. This sudden halt is due to a lapse in insurance coverage following our inclusion in a lawsuit despite FoDCC having no role in the dog’s care, custody, or placement.
This development has been deeply frustrating and heartbreaking, especially as we enter a season when adoptions, Dogventures, adoption events, and community engagement typically thrive. But we want our supporters to know: we are not standing still.
Upcoming Events Cancelled Due to Insurance Issue
The Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) organization is facing a critical issue and we wanted to let our supporters and community members know the present situation.
